Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer Edged by West Virginia Wesleyan

In an evenly played match from start to finish, Seton Hill was just edged out by West Virginia Wesleyan 1-0 in a non-conference match Saturday afternoon at DSG Field.

The Griffins would have more chances in the first half, putting up a 7-2 margin in shots. Seton Hill put three of those attempts on goal, but they were stopped and two free kicks after Bobcat fouls were blocked. SHU keeper Bobby White faced just one shot on goal and made the save to keep it scoreless at halftime.

The second half continued to see limited chances for each side. The best chance for the Bobcats came in the 67th minute when a Griffin foul led to a free kick. Wesleyan would convert on the kick, burying a shot in the lower right corner of the net to stake the Bobcats to a 1-0 lead. Seton Hill tried to push forward for the tying goal but two corner kicks in the final five minutes did not result in the equalizer and Wesleyan escaped with the one-goal victory.

White completed the afternoon with a pair of saves in the match.

Seton Hill will head out on the road for its next match, traveling to Pitt-Johnstown for a 4 pm kickoff in a PSAC West tilt on Wednesday.
