Griffins Drop 3-1 Decision at SRU

Seton Hill led PSAC West-leading Slippery Rock by a goal at halftime, but The Rock rallied with three goals in the second half to take a 3-1 victory over the Griffins.

Although SRU outshot Seton Hill 8-3 in the first half, it was the Griffins who scored first. Keeper Grace Kenyon stopped three shots to maintain the scoreless tie until late in the half. Shortly after a corner kick, Alexis Garia scored her second goal of the season to lift the Griffins to a 1-0 lead in the 42nd minute. Kenyon made another save before halftime and SHU took the one-goal advantage into the intermission.

The Seton Hill lead slipped away early in the second half. Slippery Rock would get the tying goal shortly after halftime, as a score in the 53rd minute off a rebound tevened the match at 1-1. The Rock would take the lead with a goal in the 73rd minute and finished the scoring with a late goal in the 88th minute. Kenyon finished the match with a season-high 11 saves.

Seton Hill will be back in action on Wednesday when they host Pitt-Johnstown. Kickoff is set for 1:30 pm for the contest, which will be rematch of the Sept. 18th match in Johnstown won by UPJ.
