Baseball Rallies for Win Over Winona State

Seton Hill continued their Florida trip on Friday morning with a single nine inning contest against Winona State at the Lake Myrtle Complex in Auburndale. 
 
The Griffins rallied from 5-1 down for an 8-6 victory over the Warriors.  SHU improves to 9-3 overall while the Warriors fall to 6-6. 
 
Winona State took a 1-0 lead over the Griffins in the top of the first inning.  The Griffins responded with a run of their own in the bottom half of the first inning on a sacrifice fly from Tommy Pellis to tie the score at one. 
 
The Warriors took a 5-1 lead with a four spot in the top of the fourth inning.  SHU answered right back with three runs in the bottom half of the inning.  Pellis, Parker Denny and Jack Oberdorf singled to load the bases with one out.  After a fly out, a hit batter, walk and wild pitch allowed all three runners to score to cut the lead to 5-4. 
 
SHU retook the lead in the bottom of the fifth inning.  Isaiah DiAndreth and Pellis singled to lead off the inning.  DiAndreth scored on a wild pitch and Pellis scored on a sacrifice fly by Brandon Kline to give SHU a 6-5 lead.  A double steal by Adam Bankovich and Jordan Fiedor gave SHU a 7-5 lead in the sixth inning. 
 
Tanner Froehlich homered to lead off the bottom of the eighth inning to give the Griffins an 8-6 lead. 
 
Oberdorf led the Griffins with 3 hits.  Sabol and Pellis each added two hits in the win.  George Coyle earned his third win of the season.  Nash Bryan with three shutout innings to earn the save. 
 
The Griffins close out their Florida trip on Saturday against #9 Ashland.
