After a day off on Wednesday, the Griffins returned to action on Thursday morning in Sanford, Florida against Northern State.
SHU broke the game open with a six spot in the sixth inning as they defeated the Wolves by a 12-3 score. SHU is now 8-3 overall.
The Griffins broke through first in the bottom of the second inning. With two outs,
Brandon Kline singled and
Derek Orndorff was hit by an 0-2 pitch to put two runners on.
Jack Oberdorf then hit a high chopped to short and Orndorff beat the throw to second. Kline continued to run around third and beat the throw at the plate to give SHU a 1-0 lead.
Northern State bounced back with a run in the top of the third inning to tie the game at one. SHU retook the lead in the fourth inning.
Parker Denny drew a leadoff walk and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt. After a strikeout, Oberdorf drove a pitch over the center fielders head to put SHU in front 2-1.
Jamie Wrabel added a two out RBI single to give SHU a 3-1 lead.

Jordan Fiedor. Wrabel and
Tommy Pellis each added RBIs to put the Griffins in front 9-1. Northern State got one run back in the top of the seventh to trim the lead to 9-2.
Seton Hill answered right back in the bottom of the inning. Denny drew a leadoff walk and scored when
Brandon Kline hit his first collegiate home run to put SHU in front 11-2. Pellis hit a bomb in the bottom of the eighth inning to make it 12-2.
Pellis led SHU with 3 hits including a solo shot. Fiedor, Kline and Wrabel each had 2 hits. Fiedor added a grand slam while Kline added a two run shot. Oberdorf added two RBIs.
Patrick Monteverde worked 2.2 innings in his first start back from surgery. He gave up 1 hit while striking out 2.
Nicholas Behm earned the win with 3.1 shutout innings of work. He struck out 4 while allowing 2 hits.
The Griffins continue their Florida trip on Friday against Winona State.
