The Seton Hill baseball team continued play on Sunday afternoon in Florida with a matchup with Wilmington at Polk State.
SHU exploded for eight runs in the sixth inning and then cruised to a 13-2 win over the Wildcats. SHU is now 6-2 on the season.
The Griffins came out of the gates fast scoring four times in the top of the first inning.
Owen Sabol led off and reached on an error. After an out,
Tanner Froehlich and
Isaiah DiAndreth each singled to knock in a run.
Parker Denny followed with an RBI double to make it 2-0.
Jordan Fiedor singled to drive in Froehlich and DiAndreth scored on an error to make it 4-0.
SHU added another run in the second. Sabol reached on another error and scored on a
Tommy Pellis single.
Seton Hill broke the game open in the sixth with eight runs.
Tyler Peterson reached on an error to lead off the inning. Sabol walked and Pellis was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Froehlich knocked in two runs with a single. DiAndreth followed with an RBI single to make it 8-0. Fiedor added two more runs with a double. Zaluski and Peterson each also knocked in runs in the inning.
Jared Kollar improved to 3-0 after five shutout innings. He gave up just 2 hits and struck out 7. Froehlich and Fiedor each had 3 hits. Pellis, DiAndreth and Parker Denny each added 2 hits.
SHU will next travel to take on Tampa on Monday afternoon at 3 PM.
