Seton Hill hosted Shippensburg in a non conference matchup on a rainy Wednesday afternoon in Greensburg.
The Griffins built a 7-2 lead in the first half but could not hold on as Shippensburg was able to rally and defeat the Griffins by a 10-9 score. SHU falls to 2-1 on the season.
Shippensburg took a 1-0 lead over the Griffins less than a minute into the contest. Just over a minute later,
Taylor Fox-Trudel tied the contest at one. Ship took a 2-1 lead before Fox Trudel's second of the game tied the score at two with 25:40 remaining in the first half.
SHU would then continue their scoring run as they scored the next five goals of the game to take a 7-2 lead with just over ten minutes to play in the first half.
Alaina TeSelle and
Jaclyn Frank scored twice and
Kristi Kada scored once in the run. The Raiders responded with four goals over a five minute span to trim the lead to 7-6 at the half.
Just over six minutes into the second half,
Alyssa Ference put the Griffins in front 8-6. Three straight goals from the Raiders put them in front 9-8 with 15:47 to play in the second half.
Elizabeth Tamasitis tied the score at nine with 13:23 to play but the Raiders took a 10-9 lead with 8:51 left.
Fox-Trudel, TeSelle and Frank each scored twice for the Griffins. Frank also added an assist. Tamasitis finished with a goal and an assist.
SHU will now head to Florida for two games next weekend for Spring Break. SHU will take on Florida Southern on Saturday at 7 PM.
