Seton Hill hosted #9 Indiana (PA) on Senior Day on Saturday afternoon as they honored seniors
Sydney Rabold and
Lexi Civittolo prior to the contest.
The Crimson Hawks pulled away from the Griffins in the fourth quarter for a 71-44 victory. IUP improves to 24-2 overall and 19-1 in the PSAC while SHU falls to 13-13 overall and 7-13 in PSAC play.
The Griffins came out cold from the floor as IUP built a 10-1 lead over the first seven minutes of the first quarter. SHU got baskets from
Samantha Kosmacki,
Taylin Tyler and
Lexi Civittolo to cut the lead to 17-7 at the end of the first quarter.
A three point play from Tyler with 6:26 to play in the half kept the Crimson Hawk lead at ten points but IUP outscored the Griffins 15-5 the rest of the half to take a 37-17 halftime lead.
Seton Hill got back to within 13 points after a three pointer from
Cheyenne Trest at the 1:45 mark of the third quarter. IUP then scored the final four points of the quarter to take a 48-31 lead into the fourth quarter.
IUP outscored the Griffins 23-13 in the final quarter for the victory.
Civittolo and Tyler led the Griffins with 12 points each.
Katie Nolan finished with 12 rebounds.
SHU will return to action on Wednesday evening when they travel to Pitt Johnstown.
