Nolan's Double Double Not Enough at UPJ

Seton Hill played its final road game of the regular season as they traveled to Johnstown to take on Pitt Johnstown on Wednesday evening.

The Griffins outscored the Mountain Cats in the second half but could not overcome an eleven point deficit in a 74-67 loss.  SHU falls to 13-14 overall and 7-14 in PSAC play while UPJ improves to 16-11 overall and 11-10 in PSAC play.

UPJ took a quick 3-0 lead before back to back baskets from Katie Nolan and Sydney Rabold put SHU in front 4-3 in the early portion of the first half.  Two baskets from Nolan and a three pointer from Lexi Civittolo put the Griffins in front 11-8 midway thru the quarter.  UPJ ended the quarter on an 11-2 run to take a 19-13 lead into the second quarter.

After a three point play fron Cheyenne Trest two minutes into the second quarter, the Mountain Cats went on an 8-0 run to take a 29-18 lead with just over five minutes to play in the half.  The Griffins were able to cut the lead to six before UPJ hit a three at the buzzer to take a 37-28 halftime lead.

Trailing by ten in the third quarter, Rena Enterline drained a three and Civittolo followed with a layin to trim the lead to 41-36 with 7:47 to play.  Another Nolan basket cut the UPJ lead to one at 43-42 with just under five minutes left in the third.  UPJ took a 53-48 lead into the fourth quarter.

UPJ scored the first six points of the fourth quarter to extend its lead to eleven.  SHU responded with an 8-0 run on two baskets from Nolan and Tiana Stewart.  Back to back baskets from Enterline and Nolan cut the lead to 65-63 with 2:31 to play.  SHU would not get any closer as UPJ hit seven of eight free throws down the stretch.

Nolan led SHU with a game high double double of 24 points and 15 rebounds.  Trest also reached double figures with 12 points.  Civittolo finished with 9 and Enterline added 8.
