The Griffin softball team closed out the SnowBird FreezeOut Tournament in Myrtle Beach, SC with a contest with WV State on Sunday morning.
The Yellow Jackets scored four runs in the final two innings to come back and defeat the Griffins by a 4-1 score. SHU falls to 2-3 on the season while WV State improves to 8-5.
Seton Hill got on the board first in the bottom of the first inning. With one out,
Jenna Osikowicz homered to put the Griffins in front 1-0. The game remained 1-0 until the top of the fifth inning.
WV State drew a leadoff walk and took a 2-1 lead on a homer with one out in the inning. They added another run after a hit batter and a triple made the score 3-1. They added an insurance run in the seventh with a solo homer.
Osikowicz led the Griffins with a double and a homer.
Morgan Toal also added two hits.
The Griffins are scheduled to play their home opener next Saturday against Wheeling University.
