Baseball Completes Sweep of Coker with 14-4 Win

The Griffin baseball team closed out its three game set at Coker looking for a sweep on Sunday afternoon.

Seton Hill scored in seven of the nine innings in route to a 14-4 win over the Cobras, completing the three game sweep.  SHU is now 3-0 on the season while the Cobras fall to 6-5.

SHU scored three times in the top of the first inning and never looked back in the win.  Derek Orndorff led off the game with a single and scored when Tommy Pellis homered to left field to put the Griffins in front 2-0.  Tyler Zaluski drew a walk, stole second and scored on an Isaiah DiAndreth single to make it 3-0.

Seton Hill added a run in the second on a two out solo homer from Orndorff.  The Griffins added a single run in the third on another RBI single from DiAndreth.

After a Pellis lead off single, Tanner Froehlich made it 7-0 with a two run shot to left in the fourth.  They added another run off an error in the inning to make it 8-0.

Pellis tripled in Adam Bankovich who doubled and scored on a Froehlich groundout to put the Griffins in front 10-1 in the fifth inning.  Bankovich then homered with one out in the seventh inning.

Bankovich, Jack Oberdorf and Brandon Kline each drove in runs in the ninth inning.

Pellis went 4-4 with 3 RBIs including a triple and homer. Bankovich was 3-3 with two doubles and a homer. DiAndreth adds 3 hits.  Orndorff and Zaluski each finished with 2 hits. Orndorff and Tanner Froehlich each also homered.
