Seton Hill hosted a tri-match on Saturday in the McKenna Center as they hosted both Emmanuel College and Mercyhurst North East.
The Griffins rolled to a 32-6 win over Emmanuel in the morning contest and closed out the day with a 41-8 victory over Mercyhurst North East. Seton Hill improves to 6-5 overall in dual matches on the season.
SHU won eight of the ten matches in the win over Emmanuel.
Frank Bonura got the Griffins off and running with a wild 21-15 decision win at 125 pounds.
Vincent Distefanis followed with a 12-7 decision win at 133 pounds to give SHU the early 6-0 lead.
Tyler Kenney won his match by forfeit and
Austin Shaw earned a 15-8 decision win to put SHU in front 15-0 after three matches.
Emmanuel followed with two wins to trim the SHU lead to 15-6.
The Griffins then closed out the match with four wins.
Alec Shaw won by a 7-1 score at 174 pounds.
Joey Romjue won a wild, high scoring match by a 20-11 margin to push the SHU lead to 22-6.
Billy Bowlen won by major decision, 12-1, at 197 pounds.
Jake Beistel won by fall (2:31) in the final match for the 32-6 SHU win.
The Griffins also won eight of the ten matches in the win over Mercyhurst North East.
Brady Sherback put SHU in front 3-0 with a 11-4 win to open the match.
Derrick Chandler-Christie picked up a major decision with a 16-2 win at 133 pounds.
Joel Cawoski picked up a win by fall 47 seconds into the second period of his 141 pound match.
Zach Macy earned a tech fall win at 149 pounds as SHU took an 18-0 lead thru four matches.
After a Hurst win,
Luke Ewing won his match by a tech fall at 165 pounds.
Alec Shaw won by forfeit before
Brandon Matthews won by fall at the 4:47 mark of his match.
Jake Shaffer won by forfeit in the final match of the day.
The Griffins will host Kutztown next Saturday in their final home match of the season.
