Seton Hill began its four game PSAC West set with Gannon with a home doubleheader on Saturday afternoon. Gannon scored six times in the eighth inning for a 7-4 win in game one. SHU responded with a 3-1 win in game two. SHU is now 15-13 overall and 6-4 in PSAC West action.
Gannon took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning with a solo homer.
Seton Hill tied the score at one in the sixth. Two singles from
Chris Law and
Andrew Chuba put runners on first and second with one out. A wild pitch put runners on second and third.
Ryan Grieco then drove in Law to tie the score at one.
The Knights scored six times in the eighth inning of game one to take a 7-1 lead over the Griffins.
SHU responded with three runs in their half of the inning but it was not enough. Chuba hit a solo homer and
Isaiah DiAndreth knocked in a run with a single.
Gannon took a 1-0 lead in the third inning of game two of the doubleheader.
The Griffins tied the game at one in the fourth on a solo shot from
Tommy Pellis.
SHU retook the lead in the bottom of the sixth.
Tyler Peterson led off with an infield single and moved to second on an error. Pinch runner
Cory Storm scored when Grieco singled thru a drawn in infield.
Jordan Fiedor's single knocked in Grieco to give SHU a 3-1 advantage.
George Coyle with the complete game win. He gave up 1 run on 3 hits while striking out 5.
