Seton Hill hosted West Liberty in a non conference matchup on Wednesday afternoon. The Griffins pounded out 23 hits in a 22-6 win. SHU is now 14-12 on the season.
After an hour and fifteen minute delay for umpires, the Griffins jumped on the Hilltoppers for six runs in the second inning.
Colton Carney walked to lead off the inning.
Nick Stotler singled to put runners on first and second. Both scored when
Adam Bankovich doubled off the left field wall. Back to back singles from
Kailen Grimm and
Andrew Chuba helped to load the bases.
Isaiah DiAndreth drew a bases loaded walk to force in a run.
Jordan Fiedor made it 6-0 with a two RBI double.
West Liberty answered with three runs in the top of the third with a three run homer. SHU answered with a run on a
Ryan Grieco sacrifice fly in the bottom of the third to take a 7-3 lead.
Seton Hill then put up a five spot in the fourth inning, thanks to a grand slam from Grimm.
Seton Hill continued to add runs in the fifth inning. DiAndreth hit a two run bomb, Stotler added a three run bomb and
Luke Whalen knocked in a run with an RBI single.
Mike Connell drove in a run in the sixth and
Parker Denny, Carney and
Danny Williams added RBIs in the seventh.
Grimm with 3 hits including a grand slam.
