Seton Hill finally was able to host Gannon in a PSAC West doubleheader on Wednesday afternoon after having the game postponed multiple times. Gannon scored two times in the top of the eighth inning for a 3-1 win in game two. The Knights completed the sweep with a 7-0 win in game two. SHU falls to 25-15 overall and 10-6 in PSAC West action.
The Griffins got on the scoreboard in the third inning.
Abbie Thrower drew a leadoff walk. She moved to second on a wild pitch.
Christiana Skrabak then came thru with a two out RBI single to score Thrower and give the Griffins a 1-0 lead.
Gannon used back to back doubles to tie the game at one in the top of the fourth inning.
Neither team was able to score until the Golden Knights pushed across two runs in the top of the eighth inning to take a 3-1 lead.
Brooke Bower led the Griffins with two hits.
Game two started off as a pitchers dual between
Skyla Greco and Madi Beining. Both pitchers limited the other team to just one hit in the first three innings.
Jenna Osikowicz led off the fourth inning with a double but was stranded on second base.
Gannon finally broke thru in the fifth inning as they took a 1-0 lead. The Golden Knights added three more runs in the top of the sixth to push their lead to 4-0. They added three more in the seventh inning.
Osikowicz led SHU with two hits.
SHU remains home to host CalU on Friday afternoon.
