Seton Hill ended their spring break trip in Florida with a contest at #11 Tampa on Saturday afternoon. The Spartans used an 11-0 run to end the first half in route to an 18-8 victory over the Griffins. The Griffins drop to 1-3 on the season while the Spartans improve to 5-2.
The Griffins got out of the gates fast, scoring the first two goals of the contest.
Keagan Pontious and
Taylor Fox-Trudel each netted goals for the Griffins. Tampa responded with three straight goals to take a 3-2 lead. Fox-Trudel tied the score at three with a goal with 22:14 to play in the half. Over the final twenty two minutes, the Spartans outscored the Griffins 11-0 to take a 14-3 halftime lead.
Jaclyn Frank ended the 12-0 Tampa run with a goal six minutes into the second half that cut the lead to 15-4. Fox-Trudel added two more goals in the second half and
Brooke Lawrence and
Katelyn Cressman each added goals for the Griffins.
Fox-Trudel led the Griffins with 4 goals. Cressman and Frank each added a goal and an assist.
SHU will return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Jefferson.
