CLARION, Pa. - The Seton Hill University softball team swept a pair of non-conference games against Clarion, winning the Game One by a score of 12-3 in five innings and Game Two 11-4 in eight innings. The day was marred by cold as the teams' had to take periodic breaks throughout the contests in an effort to get warm before continuing the game where they left off.
// NOTABLES
• Seton Hill improves to 11-7 on the season while Clarion falls to 0-19 on the year.
• Devyn Terry (5-3) picked up the Game One win, throwing all 5.0 innings in the circle for the Griffins. Terry fanned six while walking two.
• Leighann Pettis (1-0) was given the Game Two win. Pettis spent 7.0 innings in the circle, giving up four runs while striking out one and walking one.
// GAME ONE
• After scoring two in the 3rd, the SHU offense exploded for seven runs in the 4th and three more in the 5th on their way to the 12-3 win in Game One. Devyn Terry was 2-for-3 from the plate with two doubles and three RBI's. Brooke Bower and Abbie Thrower were both 1-for-3 from the plate with Bower adding an RBI and three runs scored, and Thrower adding an RBI and two runs scored.
// GAME TWO
• Clarion scored two runs in the 7th to send the game to extra innings, but the Seton Hill offense came back with seven runs in the 8th inning to earn the 11-4 win in Game Two. Bower, Thrower, Chelsea Rohan, and Ashley Boehm all came away with two RBI's.
