Seton Hill hosted Point Park on Wednesday afternoon in a non conference game on the hill. The Griffins ended their losing streak with a 7-3 victory over the Pioneers. SHU is now 5-7 on the season.
Neither team was able to crack the scoreboard until the fourth inning. With one out,
Parker Denny reached on an error. He scored when
Isaiah DiAndreth doubled into the left center field gap. They added another run on an error when DiAndreth scored on a squeeze play from
Colton Carney.
Point Park responded with three runs on four hits in the fifth inning to take a 3-2 lead.
The Griffins got those runs back in the bottom of the fifth.
Ryan Grieco led off the inning with a double. After an out,
Tommy Pellis reached on an infield single. Pellis then stole second and both runners scored on a Denny single to put SHU in front 4-3. Later in the inning,
Colton Carney singled thru the right side to knock in Denny and push the lead to 5-3.
SHU extended the lead to 7-3 in the seventh. Pellis led off with a double and scored on a Denny single. Later in the inning, Denny scored when Carney reached on an error.
Pellis and Denny each had two hits for the Griffins.
The Griffins return to action this weekend when they take on Millersville and LeMoyne in four games on Friday thru Sunday.
