GREENSBURG, PA. - The Seton Hill University women's volleyball team defeated Clarion, 3-0, to clinch a spot in the 2019 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Volleyball Tournament.

• Seton Hill improves to 16-9 overall, 11-5 in PSAC play.
• Jillian Livorse (Willoughby, OH, Willoughby South) led the offensive attack with a match-high 13 kills.
• Livorse and Veronica Johns (Bethel Park, PA, Bethel Park) chipped in a match-high two aces apiece.
• Jessica Hanson (Bethel Park, PA, Bethel Park) had a match-high three blocks.
• Taylor Sabol (North Huntingdon, PA, Norwin) came away with a match-high 41 assists, and Erin Parks (Chesapeake, VA, Hickory) had 14 digs.
// HOW IT HAPPENED
• Seton Hill scored the first point of second number one, and did not relinquish that lead on their way to a 25-19 win in the first frame. In the second, the Griffins would race out to an early 7-4 lead only to see the Golden Eagles score four straight to take an 8-7 lead. From there the set featured 11 ties and three lead changes. The last of those lead changes coming when SHU broke a 23-23 tie with a Viktoria Farian (Richfield, OH, Revere) kill that put SHU ahead, 24-23. An attack error by Clarion on the next point gave SHU the 25-23 win in the second set. It was all Seton Hill as they raced out to a 10-3 lead to start off the third set. The Griffins would not look back on their win to the 25-16, post-season clinching, victory.
