The Griffin women's soccer team closed out their home campaign with a PSAC West contest with California (PA) on Wednesday afternoon.
The Vulcans scored twice in the second half for a 2-0 win over the Griffins. SHU drops to 6-11 overall and 6-9 in PSAC West play.
Neither team was able to score in the first half. The Griffins dominated possession over the first twenty five minutes of play but were unable to take advantage of it. CalU controlled the final portion of the half and ended up outshooting the Griffins by a 9-4 margin in the half.
CalU took the lead just over four minutes into the second half. They added to their lead in the 78th minute when they took a 2-0 lead.
Elyza Pilatowski-Herzing played the first half and recorded three saves.
Grace Kenyon recorded four saves in the second half.
Italia Biondi led SHU with four shots and two on goal.
SHU will close out the season on Saturday when they travel to Edinboro.
