Women's Soccer Drops PSAC West Battle

Seton Hill continued PSAC West play on Wednesday afternoon when they hosted Mercyhurst in an important contest.

The Griffins scored first but the Lakers scored the final four goals in a 4-1 victory over the Griffins.  SHU drops to 6-9 overall and 6-7 in PSAC West play while the Lakers improve to 8-5-2 overall and 7-5-1 in the west.

Seton Hill took a 1-0 lead just over twenty minutes into the contest.  Katie Kimmich sent the ball to Italia Biondi who hit a shot to the upper left corner of the net over the keeper to put the Griffins in front.  Just over five minutes later, the Lakers tied the contest at one.  The Lakers led in shots 6-4 in the half.  SHU had the only corner kick of the half.

It was all Mercyhurst in the second half.  They scored just over five minutes into the second half to take a 2-1 lead.  Mercyhurst scored two goals in the final two minutes, including a penalty kick, for the 4-1 victory.

Elyza Pilatowski-Herzing finished the day with 8 saves.  Biondi led SHU with 3 shots including two on goal.

The Griffins will continue PSAC West play on Saturday when they host IUP on Senior Day.
