JOHNSTOWN - The Seton Hill University volleyball team defeated Pitt-Johnstown, 3-0, to complete a perfect weekend. The Griffins bested Indiana University of Pennsylvania, 3-0, on Friday.
// NOTABLES
• Seton Hill now stands with a record of 12-8 (7-4 PSAC) on the year. The Griffins hold a two-game lead over Cal U for the first spot in the PSAC Southwest Division.
• Jillian Livorse led SHU with 13 kills. Viktoria Farian and Bobbi Rempe followed with eight and seven kills.
• Farian had a match-high four aces.
• Taylor Sabol came away with 37 assist, while Livorse had 20 digs.
// HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Griffins came out firing on all cylinders, cruising out to a monster 17-6 lead before settling on a 25-17 win in set number one. In the second set, the Griffs found themselves trailing 5-2 before mounting a 8-1 run to take a 10-6 lead. Fast forward to late in the second set with the Griffins leading 24-19, it was UPJ that mounted a 4-0 run to make it 24-23. But, Viktoria Farian's kill gave SHU the 25-23 win. In the third set, UPJ held a 5-3 lead before kills from Bobbi Rempe, Taylor Sabol, and Jillian Livorse gave SHU their first lead of the set, 6-5. From there the set went back-and-forth with six ties and two lead changes before SHU turned a 15-15 set into 21-15 set in favor of the Griffins. Seton Hill will go on to win the third set, 25-22, and the match.

• Seton Hill returns to action next weekend with three road matches. The first match is Friday, November 1 at Edinboro followed by a Saturday match at Gannon and a Sunday match at Mercyhurst.
