Griffins Drop Matchup With PSAC Central Leaders

Seton Hill closed out their eastern PA roadtrip with a matchup at PSAC Central leading East Stroudsburg on Saturday afternoon.

The PSAC Central leading Warriors were able to sweep the Griffins.  SHU falls to 9-8 overall and 5-4 in PSAC play while the Warriors improve to 18-4 and 9-1 in PSAC play.

East Stroudsburg jumped on the Griffins in the first set and took a 1-0 lead over the Griffins with a 25-11 first set win.

They increased their lead to 2-0 in the match with a 25-16 second set win.

The Griffins took a 10-5 and 12-6 lead in the third set.  SHU answered a 3-0 Warrior run with a 3-0 run of their own to build the lead back to 15-9.  The Warriors scored five straight to cut the SHU lead to 15-14.  SHU responded with a 5-0 run of their own, two on Jillian Livorse kills to take a 22-18 lead.   A kill from Bobbi Rempe put SHU in front 23-20.  Four straight from the Warriors gave them a set point at 24-23.  A Livorse kill saved that set point but the Warriors closed out the match with two points.

Livorse led the Griffins with 9 kills.  Viktoria Farian and Rempe each finished with 6 kills.  Taylor Sabol had 23 assists.  Lauren Nelson led SHU with 3 blocks.  Livorse led SHU with 15 digs.  Farian added 11 and Erin Parks reached double figures with 10.

SHU will take a break from PSAC play on Tuesday when they host Fairmont State.
