Seton Hill returned home to the McKenna Center as they hosted Lock Haven on Homecoming Friday night.
The Griffins rolled to a three set sweep of the visiting Bald Eagles . SHU improved to 6-7 overall and 2-3 in PSAC play while Lock Haven falls to 6-10 overall and 0-6 in PSAC play.Â
SHU jumped out to a 6-3 lead in the first set behind two kills from
Jessica Hanson. After LHU got back to within one, SHU went on a 5-1 run to take a 12-7 lead.Â
Viktoria Farian and Hanson each had two kills in the run. SHU ended the set on a 7-0 run to take a 1-0 lead with a 25-13 first set win.Â
The early portion of the second set was very tightly played with neither team jumping out to a big advantage. The Griffins used a 6-0 run to break a 7-7 tie and lead 13-7. Kills from
Erin Parks,
Bobbi Rempe and
Jillian Livorse pushed the SHU advantage to 23-17 late in the set. A block from
Taylor Sabol and
Lauren Nelson gave SHU a 2-0 lead with a 25-21 second set win.
Seton Hill opened the third set on a 6-0 run and never looked back in cruising to a 25-11 third set win. Hanson scored the first three points of the set on her own with two kills and a block. Match point was a kill from
Mackenzie English with an assist from
Vaneris Fuentes.
Farian led the Griffins with 11 kills. Hanson just missed double figure kills with 9. Livorse and Rempe each added 6.Â
Taylor Sabol paced the offense with 31 assists. Hanson led with 3 blocks. Livorse had a team high 12 digs while Parks added 11.Â
Seton Hill returns to the court on Saturday afternoon when they host Bloomsburg.Â
