#15 California (PA) Too Much For Women's Basketball

CALIFORNIA, PA. -  The Seton Hill University women's basketball team fall on the road to #15 California University of Pennsylvania, 66-59, in PSAC action on Monday afternoon.

// NOTABLES
• The game was originally scheduled for Saturday, Jan 19th, but was moved to Monday due to Winter Storm Harper.
• Seton Hill is now 11-6 on the year, and 5-5 in the PSAC.
• California improves to 15-1 overall, and 9-1 in the PSAC.

// LEADERS
Megan Marecic led Seton Hill with 22 points on 8-of-17 shooting from the floor, including 3-of-8 from three point range and 3-for-3 from the line. Katie Nolan finished with nine points, and Lexi Civittolo had eight. Cheyenne Trest grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds.
• Cal was led by Seairra Barrett's game-high 23 points. Jiahna Flood-Francis finished with 17 points, and Shauna Harrison had 10 to round out the double-digit scorers for Cal. 

// INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• The two teams ended the first quarter even at 15-15 behind similar shooting performances. Seton Hill made 5-of-14 shots from the floor, but the Vulcans netted 6-of-16 in the frame. Seton Hill did make 4-of-5 free-throw attempts compared to just 2-of-6 for Cal. Both teams were virtually even in shooting percentage in the second -36.4 for SHU and 36.8 for Cal - but the Vulcans netted three more shots than the Griffins to take a 34-27 advantage going into halftime.
• A quick 7-0 run to start the third tied the game at 34-34 with just two minutes gone on the clock. Cal would respond, but the Griffins shot just under 70% from the floor to outscore the Vulcans, 22-15, and head into the final quarter tied 49-49.
•  California used a 9-1 run in the fourth to take a 58-52 lead with 4:50 to go in the fourth. That would be all she wrote as the Vulcans would not relinquish that lead and finish the game ahead, 66-59.

• The Griffins travel to Bloomsburg, PA on Wednseday, Jan 23rd to take on Bloomsburg University. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM.
