Seton Hill continued PSAC play on Friday evening when they traveled to Shippensburg for a PSAC matchup. The home standing Raiders defeated the Griffins by a 3-0 score to earn the sweep. SHU falls to 8-4 overall and 2-1 in PSAC play while the Raiders improve to 13-2 overall and 3-0 in PSAC play.
Shippensburg took an early 4-1 lead in the first set. Later in the set the Griffins used a 4-0 run to take an 11-10 lead.
Viktoria Farian,
Brynn Fleury and
Terese Mihalcin each had kills during the run. With the Griffins ahead 15-14, the Raiders scored nine of the next eleven points to take control of the set. The Raiders took the set by a 25-19 score.
The Raiders took an early 7-3 lead in the second set. A kill from
Erin Parks cut the lead to 8-7 but the Raiders scored six of the next seven points to take a 14-8 lead. A 5-1 run late in the set cut the Raiders lead to 18-17 but the Raiders were able to take a 2-0 lead with a 25-20 second set win.
Seton Hill took the early lead in the third set at 4-1. After Ship tied the set at six, neither team held more than a two point advantage until Farian and
Cameron Baril had back to back kills to give SHU a 12-10 lead. The Raiders came back to take a 16-13 lead. Kills from
Jillian Livorse and
Umari Stroud tied ths set at 16. The Raiders then closed the set on a 9-4 run to take the match.
Livorse led the Griffins with 7 kills. Farian and
Jessica Hanson each added 5.
Hannah Moeller had a match high 23 digs.
SHU continues PSAC play on Saturday when they head to Pitt Johnstown.
