Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Griffins, Ville Play to 1-1 Tie

Seton Hill hosted Millersville in their PSAC home opener on Friday afternoon.  The teams played 110 minutes of action but nothing was decided as the teams played to a 1-1 tie.  SHU is now 3-0-3 overall and 0-0-2 in PSAC play.  Millersville is 2-1-4 overall and 0-0-1 in PSAC play.

Millersville got on the board first in the 11th minute of the contest off a corner kick.  The Marauders perfectly executed the corner and found a free runner whose header found the back of the net for a 1-0 Marauder lead.  The Griffins answered back with a goal off a corner kick in the 34th minute.  Lloyd Davies sent the ball across the net and Liam Kettle got his head on it and sent it back into the side netting for a 1-1 tie.  Millersville outshot the Griffins by a 6-5 margin.

The second half was all Seton Hill as they outshot the Marauders by an 11-6 margin but could not beat the Millersville keeper.  He made 5 saves to keep the game deadlocked at one.

Austin Iddon made a save off a corner kick midway thru the first overtime period.  Late in the period, Henrik Berg and Archie Lock each had shots on goal but the Marauder keeper made saves.

In the second overtime, the Griffins had both of the shots but could not find the game winner.

Iddon finished with 3 saves for the Griffins.

SHU looks to remain unbeaten on Sunday when they travel to California (PA) for a PSAC contest.
