Seton Hill continued their preparation for the PSAC schedule with a non conference road matchup with Urbana on Sunday afternoon. The match got off to a slow start, but the Griffins used a penalty kick in the second half for a 1-0 road win. SHU is now 1-0-1 on the season.
The first half of the match was a feeling out process with each team just registering two shots in the half. The Griffins
Tormod Staal Simonsen registered both shots in a four minute stretch. The second one nearly giving the Griffins the lead when he hit the crossbar in the 28th minute. The Knights registered both their shots in a three minute stretch with keeper
Austin Iddon making a save on the second one.
The Griffins nearly took the lead again in the 54th minute but
John Trollsas' shot was stopped by a defender before crossing the goal line. Four minutes later, the Griffins took a 1-0 lead after
Colin Watson buried a penalty kick to put the Griffins in front. Iddon recorded three more saves the rest of the half to preserve the win.
Iddon finished the match with 5 saves for his second straight shutout.
Alex Dyson ended the game with 3 shots, 2 on goal.
The Griffins are off until next Saturday when they host UDC in another non conference matchup.
