ERIE, PA. - Henrik Berg and Ollie Baggett gave SHU a 2-0 lead, but it wasn't enough as the Griffins battled Mercyhurst University to a 2-2 tie in double-overtime in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference men's soccer action on Wednesday.
// NOTABLES
• Seton Hill now stands with a record of 2-0-2 (0-0-1 PSAC) on the year.
• As of the release of this article, Austin Iddon's 16 saves is the 2nd most of any game in NCAA Division II this season, and just one shy of the single game leader (North Georgia's Matt Sharman was credited for 17 against Tampa on September 6th).
• Iddon's shots faced (28) and saves (16) are both career-highs for the Junior from Penn-Trafford High School.
// FIRST HALF
• Henrik Berg gave Seton Hill a 1-0 lead in the 41st minute off of an Alex Dyson assist.
// SECOND HALF
• Ollie Baggett pushed the lead out to 2-0 with a goal off of a John Trollsas assist in the 52nd minute.
• Merychurst got on the board in the 71st when Alex Garcia Piles scored from an Ian Harris assist. Mats Kreek tied the game at 2-2 in the 80th.
// OT1
• Merychurst looked to continue the momentum in the first overtime, pelting the SHU goal for 6 total shots (3 on goal). However, Autin Iddon was up to the task as he saved all three.
• A Per Stenseth shot in the 94th went wide, it was the only shot of the overtime for the Griffins.
// OT2
• The Lakers pushed the offensive attack again in the second overtime. But, again, Iddon saved all three shots he faced as the Griffins held on for the 2-2 tie.
