Seton Hill saw its PSAC Tournament come to an end with one swing of the bat as West Chester walked off the Griffins with a three run homer in the bottom of the seventh inning. Seton Hill took a 3-2 lead in the top of the seventh inning but gave up the homer in the bottom of the inning. SHU is now 23-15 on the season.
With one out in the top of the first inning,
Laken Ryen hit a solo homer to center field to give the Griffins a 1-0 lead. West Chester tied the game at one with a leadoff homer in the bottom of the first inning. The Rams took a 2-1 lead with a run in the bottom of the second inning.
The game remained 2-1 until the top of the seventh inning.
Ashley Perillo led off the seventh inning with a solo shot to left field to tie the score at two.
Christiana Skrabak followed with a single. She moved to second on a bunt by
Chelsea Rohan. After a groundout,
Jenna Osikowicz reached on an error, allowing Skrabak to score and give SHU a 3-2 lead.
West Chester then used a leadoff single and a walk to put runners on first and second. After a fielders choice, the Rams walked off the Griffins with a three run shot to center field on a 1-2 pitch to eliminate the Griffins from the tournament.
Seton Hill must now wait to see if they will be selected for the NCAA Atlantic Regional as an at large team. The selection show is set for Monday morning at 10 AM. The Griffins were seventh in the last NCAA Regional Rankings.
