Softball Falls To Lock Haven But Defeats Bloomsburg

QUAKERTOWN, Pa. - The Seton Hill University softball team fell to Lock Haven, 5-3, before defeating Bloomsburg in a must-win contest, 9-4, at Veterans Park in Quakertown.

// NOTABLES
• SHU moves to 23-14.
• The win against Bloomsburg marks the first ever win in an elimination game for Seton Hill in the PSAC Tournament.
• SHU's 23 wins marks is their best win total since the 2015 season.
Devyn Terry picked up the Lock Haven loss. Devyn spent 6.0 innings in the circle while giving up four runs on eight hits.
Skyla Greco had the Bloomsburg win in 4.0 innings pitched. Greco surrendered three runs on seven hits. Terry got her second save of the year in relief of Greco.

// LOCK HAVEN KEY INNINGS
Bottom of the 5th
• With the score tied, 2-2, Brooke Bower's single to center field scored Jenna Osikowicz to give Seton Hill a 3-2 lead.

Top of the 6th
• Lock Haven scored two runs in the top of the 6th to take their first lead of the contest. Faith Ceely and Becca Caputo both crossed the plate on two unearned runs.

// BLOOMSBURG KEY INNINGS
Bottom of the 3rd
Abbie Thrower's double to left field started off a four-run inning for Seton Hill. Laken Ryen's single to left field scored Thrower two batters later, and Devyn Derry's homer to center field scored Ryen and Jenna Osikowicz to give SHU a 4-0 lead.

Top of the 4th
• Bloomsburg's Hall had a lead-off double, and Mayhew's homer brought her home to make it 4-2. Wheeland homered during the next at-bat to further cut into the Seton Hill lead.

Bottom of the 4th
• Osikowicz singled up the middle with two out and advanced to second via a throwing error by the shortstop. Bower's triple to right field scored Jenna, and Laken Ryen followed with a single to right field that scored Bower as SHU took a 6-3 lead.

Bottom of the 5th
• With two outs and the bases loaded, a throwing error by the pitcher allowed Osikowicz to reach first and Paige Hertzog to score an unearned run. Bower's single through the left side scored Thrower and Alley Masocco who was pinch running for Ashley Perillo.
