SHU Sweeps Slippery Rock On Senior Day

GREENSBURG, Pa. - The Seton Hill University softball team defeated Slippery Rock, 4-3 in game one and 4-1 in a game two that was ended due to darkness, in PSAC West action on Friday afternoon at the SHU Softball Complex.

// NOTABLES
• SHU moves to 19-13, 11-7 PSAC while Slippery Rock falls to just 22-17 overall and 11-7 in the PSAC West.
• Game two was postponed in the top of the 4th inning with SHU leading, 4-1, due to lightening for almost an hour and a half. The two teams did retake the field and advance the game to the fifth before lightening again delayed the game. The game was called due to darkness as the final lightening strike was recorded around 8:00 PM. NCAA rules state that the game should be delayed by 30 minutes from the most recent lightening strike. The game was officially ended.
Devyn Terry earned both wins on the day, pitching every inning of both games. Terry's combined statistics include six strikeouts, five walks, and just one earned run.
Christiana Skrabak batted a combined 3-for-5 (.600) on the day with one run scored and two RBI's.
Brooke Bower was 3-for-6 (.500) with three runs scored and one RBI.
Paige Hertzog had two RBI's.
• Seniors Paige Hertzog and Ashley Perillo were honored before the game.
