GREENSBURG, Pa. - The Seton Hill University women's lacrosse team dropped a 15-9 decision to Mercyhurst University on in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference action on Wednesday afternoon in Dick's Field.
The Lakers jumped out to an early 1-0 lead at 28:34, but
Katelyn Cressman responded with a goal off of a free position shot at 27:09 to even things up at one apiece. After Merychurst took the lead again with a goal at 26:09, the Griffins responded with four-straight.
Jaclyn Frank scored a goal at 24:49 to tie the game at 2-2 followed by a
Nellie Phillips goal at 22:00 that gave Seton Hill their first lead of the game, 3-2.
Mackenzie Kilduff scored at 17:41 to give SHU a 4-2 lead, and Frank scored her second goal of the game at 16:38 to make it 5-2 in favor of Seton Hill. However, after a goal from Mercyhurst at 13:28 and a
Savannah Monroe goal at 9:58 made it 6-3, Mercyhurst would score four unanswered goals to close out the first half with a 7-6 lead.
In the second half, Mercyhurst picked up the same momentum that they gained in the first half by scoring goals at 22:14 and 19:17 to take a 9-6 lead.
Mackenzie Kilduff scored a free position goal with 13:43 to keep SHU in striking distance, but the Lakers would respond with a goal at 11:42 and another at 11:03 to take a 11-7 lead. SHU would get a goal by
Alexis Petrarca and another from Cressman, but Mercyhurst would prove too much as the Griffins fell, 15-9.
