The Griffin softball team played a doubleheader on day two of their spring trip in Clermont, Florida on Monday afternoon.  SHU took on Trevecca Nazarene in the opener and then Ferris State under the lights.  Seton Hill defeated Trevecca Nazarene by the score of 6-2 in the opener before dropping the second game by a 7-3 score.  SHU is now 3-3 on the season.

Trevecca took a 1-0 lead over the Griffins in the top of the first inning.  SHU took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the second inning.  Chelsea Rohan drew a walk and then scored on a double from Paige Hertzog.  Hertzog then scored on an error.

SHU put up a four spot in the bottom of the fourth.  The Griffins got singles from Samantha Estupinian, Brooke Bower, Jenna Osikowicz, Christiana Skrabak and Ashley Perillo to score four times and take a 6-1 lead.

Skrabak, Perillo and Estupinian each had two hits.  Devyn Terry earned her second win of the season.  She went the distance, giving up the two runs on eight hits.  Devyn struck out nine in the win.

Ferris State scored once in the third and four times in the fourth inning to take a 5-0 lead over the Griffins.  SHU got a run back in the fifth inning.  Allie Harvey led off with a double.  She moved to third on a Laken Ryen hit and scored when Bower lined one over the third baseman's head.

Ferris State added single runs in the fifth and sixth innings to take a 7-1 lead.  SHU battled back to score twice in the seventh but it was not enough.  Ryen and Bower singled and Osikowicz reached on an error to load the bases with one out.  Skrabak drove in two runs to trim the lead to 7-3.

Bower went 4-4 in game two.  Ryen and Hertzog each added two hits.
