Seton Hill hosted Bloomsburg on a damp and dreary Wednesday afternoon. SHU rallied in the final three minutes with two goals but could not score the equalizer in the final minute as Bloomsburg escaped with a 9-8 PSAC win. SHU is now 2-6 on the season and 1-3 in PSAC play.
The Griffins jumped on the Huskies early, scoring just 32 seconds into the contest on a goal from
Taylor Fox-Trudel. With 22:49 to play in the first half,
Katelyn Cressman increased the Griffins lead to 2-0. Bloomsburg answered with three straight goals to take a 3-2 lead midway thru the first half.
Olivia Caragein and
Mackenzie Kilduff scored less than a minute apart to give the Griffins a 4-3 lead which they would take into the halftime break.
Bloomsburg scored the first two goals of the half to retake a 5-4 lead. Sixteen seconds later, Fox-Trudel scored her second of the game to tie the game at five. Three straight from the Huskies gave Bloomsburg an 8-5 lead with just less than half of the second half to play. Cressman's second of the game with 6:39 to play in the half trimmed the lead to 8-6. Bloomsburg scored with 3:23 to play to increase their lead back to three. Thirty one seconds later Kilduff cut the lead back to two at 9-7. The Griffins won the next draw and Caragein scored on a free position shot with 2:35 to play to trim the lead to 9-8. The Griffins got a save from
Hailey Jacobs with 1:37 to play but turned the ball over on their next possession with a chance to tie.
Fox-Trudel, Caragein, Kilduff and Cressman each had two goals. Jacobs made 14 saves in cage.
SHU returns to action on Saturday when they travel to Lock Haven.
