Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Late Rally Comes up Just Short

Seton Hill hosted Bloomsburg on a damp and dreary Wednesday afternoon.  SHU rallied in the final three minutes with two goals but could not score the equalizer in the final minute as Bloomsburg escaped with a 9-8 PSAC win.  SHU is now 2-6 on the season and 1-3 in PSAC play.

The Griffins jumped on the Huskies early, scoring just 32 seconds into the contest on a goal from Taylor Fox-Trudel.  With 22:49 to play in the first half, Katelyn Cressman increased the Griffins lead to 2-0.  Bloomsburg answered with three straight goals to take a 3-2 lead midway thru the first half.  Olivia Caragein and Mackenzie Kilduff scored less than a minute apart to give the Griffins a 4-3 lead which they would take into the halftime break.

Bloomsburg scored the first two goals of the half to retake a 5-4 lead.  Sixteen seconds later, Fox-Trudel scored her second of the game to tie the game at five.  Three straight from the Huskies gave Bloomsburg an 8-5 lead with just less than half of the second half to play.  Cressman's second of the game with 6:39 to play in the half trimmed the lead to 8-6.  Bloomsburg scored with 3:23 to play to increase their lead back to three.  Thirty one seconds later Kilduff cut the lead back to two at 9-7.  The Griffins won the next draw and Caragein scored on a free position shot with 2:35 to play to trim the lead to 9-8.  The Griffins got a save from Hailey Jacobs with 1:37 to play but turned the ball over on their next possession with a chance to tie.

Fox-Trudel, Caragein, Kilduff and Cressman each had two goals.  Jacobs made 14 saves in cage.

SHU returns to action on Saturday when they travel to Lock Haven.
