GREENSBURG, Pa - Redshirt Sophomore attackman
John Hofseth scored a game-high five goals while Senior
Jack Moran added three goals and four assists as the Seton Hill University men's lacrosse team flew past Chestnut Hill College, 18-4, in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon at Dick's Sporting Goods Field.
Seton Hill improves to 7-1 overall on the year. Chestnut Hill slips to just 1-4 overall.
Moran scored the first two goals for Seton Hill as the SHU Griffins raced out to a 5-1 lead after the first and outscore the CHC Griffins by an 8-2 margin in the second to eventually settle on a 13-3 lead heading into halftime. The game would slow down from there, but Seton Hill would go on a 5-1 run that spanned the third and fourth quarters on their way to the 18-4 win.
For the game, Hofseth finished with a game-high five goals, and Moran finished with a game-high seven points on three goals and four assists.
Logan Maloni chipped in three goals, and
Sean Stanners had two.
Brett Craig,
Zack Rusch,
Shane Pettke,
Ryan Manbeck, and
Dan Rupert each netted goals on the day. Rusch dished three assists.
Jay Scerbo won 22 face offs on the day.
Max Eismann picked up the win with seven saves and three goals allowed in 49:15 played.
Merritt Bailey picked up a save in 4:56 played in the net, while
Kevin Mo allowed a goal in his first game of his career.
Seton Hill returns to Great Midwest Athletic Conference play when they take on Ohio Valley University on Saturday, March 31st at 12:00 PM at Dick's Sporting Goods Field.
