Seton Hill opened PSAC play on Saturday afternoon as they hosted defending PSAC champion East Stroudsburg. The defending champions opened a 9-2 halftime lead and cruised to a 16-4 victory over the Griffins. SHU falls to 1-4 overall and 0-1 in PSAC play.
East Stroudsburg opened the game by scoring the first two goals. SHU got on the board when
Courtney Pontious scored with 22:42 to play in the first half. The Warriors then ran off six straight goals to build an 8-1 advantage with 14:50 left in the half.
Brooke Lawrence ended the Warriors run with a goal with just under five minutes remaining in the half. ESU scored the final goal of the half with 24 seconds to play to take a 9-2 halftime lead.
ESU scored six straight goals to open the second half and extend their lead to 15-2 with 9:47 remaining in the game.
Katelyn Cressman and
Emma Haley scored goals for the Griffins in the final six minutes of the half.
Taylor Fox-Trudel and
Jaclyn Frank each assisted on the goals.
Hailey Jacobs recorded 10 saves in cage.
SHU is scheduled to travel to Edinboro on Tuesday for another PSAC contest.
