Seton Hill returned to action on Saturday in Millersville for their first games since their Florida trip looking to end a three game losing streak. The Griffins were unable to snap their losing streak, seeing it run to five games following a doubleheader sweep. The Marauders won both games by 6-2 scores. SHU falls to 5-8 on the season.
Millersville took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first of game one when they scored an unearned run, taking advantage of a Griffin throwing error. They added two more runs after two outs in the second inning. Millersville used three singles and a walk to score twice. The Marauders added two more runs, one of them unearned, in the fifth to push their lead to 5-0.
SHU got on the scoreboard in the sixth inning when
Garret Vrbanic led off the inning with a homer. Millersville got that run right back in the bottom of the sixth inning. The Griffins scored the final run of the game when
Sam Vilk singled in
Colton Carney in the seventh inning.
Tyler Peterson led the Griffins with three hits.
Millersville scored in the bottom of the second inning with two, two out hits to take a 1-0 lead. SHU tied the score in the third inning on an unearned run. After two outs,
Craig Lewis singled, moved to second on an error and then scored when
Chris Law singled. Millersville did not waste any time retaking the lead, scoring twice in the bottom of the third.
Jamie Wrabel singled in Vrbanic in the fourth inning to cut the Marauders lead to 3-2.
The home team answered right back again with a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to extend their lead to 5-2. Millersville scored their final run of the game, another unearned run, in the sixth to close out the scoring.
Six Griffins each had a hit in game two.
SHU will look to salvage a game from the three game set in a single nine inning contest on Sunday starting at noon.
