SHU Gets Road Win at Lincoln (PA)

The Griffins made the trip across the state to take on Lincoln (PA) in a non conference matchup on Saturday afternoon.  Seton Hill led by as many as 28 points in the second half but had to hang on for a 91-85 victory.  The win is the first for Seton Hill head coach Kendrick Saunders.  Junior Nathan Davis also posted a career high 39 points for the Griffins in the win.  SHU is now 1-4 on the season.

Lincoln opened the game on a 9-3 run to take an early lead.  Three straight three pointers, two by Nathan Davis, put SHU in front 24-17 with just over twelve minutes to play in the first half.  Three more three pointers from Davis extended the lead to 33-19 midway thru the first half.  A three pointer and dunk from Trevor Blondin pushed the Griffins lead to 44-23 with just over five minutes left in the half.  The Griffins took a 52-33 lead into the halftime break.  Davis led the Griffins with 23 points at the half.  Blondin added 13.  SHU shot 61% from the floor and three point land in the half while holding Lincoln to just 37%. 

Back to back three pointers from Davis gave SHU a 67-42 lead five minutes into the second half.  SHU took their largest lead of the game, 75-47, on a Malik McKinney jumper with 13 minutes to play.  Over the next five minutes, Lincoln went on a 16-2 run to trim the Griffins lead to 77-63.  SHU build their lead back to 17 points at 82-65 with seven minutes to play in the half.  A 10-0 Lincoln run over the next four minutes cut the lead to 82-75.  Lincoln hit a three pointer with 12 seconds left to cut the lead to three at 88-85 but SHU hit three out of four free throws to ice the game.

Davis posted a career high 39 points in the win.  He just missed a double double with 9 rebounds.  Blondin tossed in 27 points in the win.  Milenko Predic added 8 points. 

The Griffins will open PSAC play next Saturday when they travel to Shippensburg.
