Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Griffins Come up Short at Ashland

Seton Hill traveled to Ashland, OH on Wednesday afternoon for a nonconference matchup with the Eagles.  SHU trailed by as many as 19 points in the first half and were able to get back to within one point in the second half but it was not enough in a 73-62 road loss to Ashland.  SHU is now 0-4 on the season.

The Griffins took a 10-7 lead early in the first four minutes of the contest.  Over the next eight minutes, the Eagles outscored the Griffins 23-1 to build a 30-11 advantage with just under eight minutes left in the first half.  The Griffins cut the Eagles lead to 35-23 at the half.  Milenko Predic led the Griffins with 7 points at the half.

Four straight baskets from Trevor Blondin trimmed the Eagles lead to 39-37 just over five minutes into the second half.  The Eagles were able to push their lead back to eight points at 47-39 with less than twelve minutes to play in the half.  Back to back baskets from Anthony Karabatsos, including a three pointer cut the lead back to one at the nine minute mark.  The Eagles then went on an 8-0 run over a four minute stretch to build their lead to nine again and never looked back in the eleven point win.

Blondin led the Griffins with a team high 23 points.  Predic posted a double double of 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Griffins.  Malik McKinney also reached double figures with 10 points.  Karabatsos added 9 points and Nathan Davis chipped in 8.

SHU returns to action on Saturday when they travel to Lincoln (PA) for a 2 PM tip.
