Seton Hill played their final road contest of the season on Saturday afternoon at #22 Indiana (PA). IUP jumped out to a 35-7 halftime lead and cruised to a 56-14 victory. SHU falls to 1-8 overall and 1-5 in PSAC play while the Crimson Hawks improve to 7-2 overall and 4-2 in PSAC play.
On the first IUP possession,
Teegan Hahn forced and recovered a fumble, giving the Griffins the ball at their own 31 yard line. SHU then went three and out and IUP then scored on a 65 yard run on their first play from scrimmage on their next drive to take a 7-0 lead. The Crimson Hawks extended their lead to 14-0 with a three yard touchdown run late in the first quarter.
IUP pushed their lead to 21-0 on their first drive of the second quarter with a one yard touchdown run. With 4:02 to play in the half, IUP scored on a six yard touchdown pass to build their lead to 28-0. On the first play of their next drive,
Chris Jones hit
Terrell Ford with a 56 yard touchdown pass to cut the IUP lead to 28-7. IUP answered with a 35 yard touchdown pass to take a 35-7 lead into the halftime break.
The Griffins trimmed the lead to 35-14 on their first possession of the second half.
Logan Wiland capped the drive with a one yard touchdown run.
IUP added two more third quarter touchdowns and added one more in the fourth quarter for the 56-14 victory.
Chris Jones finished 8-21 for 178 yards and a touchdown. Ford finished with two catches for 59 yards and a touchdown.
Ardell Brown had four catches for 55 yards.
Narrio Walks led the Griffins with 11 tackles.
Jaylen McDuffie added 10 tackles.
SHU will host California (PA) next Saturday at noon.
