Seton Hill began a weekend in the eastern part of the state with a matchup with Kutztown on Friday evening. The Griffins were able to sweep the Golden Bears to record their fourth win in a row. SHU is now 17-8 on the season and 10-4 in PSAC play.
The Griffins took an early 7-6 lead in the first set thanks to four straight points.
Viktoria Farian had a kill and ace during the run. Kutztown then scored six of seven points to build a 14-9 lead. SHU used a 5-0 run later in the set to retake a 20-19 lead.
Cameron Baril added two kills during the run. With the Bears leading 24-23, the Griffins scored the final three points of the set for a 26-24 win.
Leah Bisignani and
Taylor Sabol each had a kill to close out the set.
Kutztown took an early 4-1 lead in the second set. The Griffins did not take control of the set until a 6-0 run behind the serve of Farian. A kill from Baril gave SHU a 2-0 lead following a 25-16 second set win.
SHU jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the third set and never looked back in closing out the Bears with a 25-15 third set win.
Leah Bisignani led the Griffins with 11 kills.
Viktoria Farian added 10 and
Cameron Baril finished with 8.
Taylor Sabol paced the Griffin offense with 34 assists. Bisignani led with 6 blocks while
Rachel Satira added 5. Farian had a match high 18 digs.
Hannah Moeller added 16.
SHU will continue the trip on Saturday afternoon with a 4 PM match at East Stroudsburg.
