SHU Reaches 10 Win Plateau for Second Straight Season

The Griffins headed north to Edinboro for an important late season PSAC road contest on a cold and windy Wednesday evening.  Seton Hill scored twice in the first half and preserved the shutout in the second half for a 2-0 victory.  The Griffins improve to 10-4-1 overall and 9-4-1 in PSAC play.

Seton Hill came out of the gates quickly with 5 shots in the first fifteen minutes of the contest.  Madison Schwerzler nearly gave the Griffins a 1-0 lead in the 12th minute when her shot hit the crossbar.  The Griffins took a 1-0 lead in the 31st minute.  Italia Biondi scored from 25 yards out into the left side of the net.  Emily LoPresti assisted on the Biondi goal.  Just over four minutes later, Alyssa Neast increased the Griffins lead to 2-0.  Her shot from inside the box found the right side of the net.  SHU held a 13-8 advantage in shots in the half.

In the second half, the Scots held a 10-8 advantage in shots but Jessica Neill recorded 5 saves in net to preserve the shutout.

Neill finished with 9 saves in net for her fifth shutout of the season.  Biondi led the Griffins with 8 shots, 5 of them on goal.  Schwerzler added 4 shots and LoPresti added 3.

SHU will play their final home match of the regular season on Saturday when they host Kutztown at 1 PM.
