Seton Hill made the long trip to Bloomsburg to take on the #23 Huskies on Friday afternoon looking to end a two match winless streak. Bloomsburg scored an early goal in the first half and made that stand up for a 1-0 shutout win. SHU is now 8-4-1 overall and 7-4-1 in PSAC play, good for seventh place in the league.
It did not take Bloomsburg long to take a lead on the Griffins. They used an outlet pass to spring a player free and the Bloomsburg player was able to beat the Griffin keeper one on one for a 1-0 lead just 1:31 into the contest. The Griffins had three good scoring chances in the half but were not able to beat the Bloomsburg keeper. The Huskies took the 1-0 lead into the halftime break. SHU led in shots 9-6 in the half and 6-1 in shots on goal.
The second half was all Bloomsburg as the Griffins managed just one shot in the half, with less than two minutes to play. Bloomsburg was able to control play in the half, limiting the Griffins time with the ball. The Huskies outshot the Griffins 5-1 in the half.
Jessica Neill finished with 3 saves in net.
Emily LoPresti led the Griffins with 4 shots, 3 of them on goal.
SHU looks to end the three game slide on Sunday when they host Pitt Johnstown at 1 PM. Nine Griffin seniors will be honored before the match.
