IUP opened the game hitting three straight three pointers to take an early 9-2 lead over the Griffins.  They extended their lead to 14-2 causing the Griffins to take a timeout with 15:43 to play in the first half.  SHU then used a 5-0 run on a three pointer from Trevor Blondin and basket from Spencer Casson to cut the Hawks lead to 21-13 with 11:22 to play in the half.

Six straight points from Blondin cut the IUP lead to 26-23 with eight minutes left in the first half.  Another three from Blondin and a put back from Casson cut the IUP lead back to 34-28 at the under four media timeout.  IUP then closed the half on a 10-2 run to take a 44-30 lead into the halftime break.

SHU was able to go on an 8-0 run to cut the IUP lead to 52-38 before the Hawks answered with a 12-5 to build the lead back to 64-43 with 13:21 left in the second half.  The Crimson Hawks extended their lead to 72-46 with 11:24 to play in the half.
