GREENSBURG, Pa. - Viktoria Farian had a match-high 13 kills as the Seton Hill University women's volleyball team held off a pesky Kuztown team, 3-1 (22-25, 25-14, 25-18, 25-14), in PSAC action Saturday afternoon inside of the McKenna Center on the campus of Seton Hill University.
The Griffins finished 2-0 on the weekend and a 10-3 overall (3-1 PSAC). Kutztown slips to just 5-11 on the year, including 0-4 in the conference.
Kutztown was the winner of the game one, outlasting the Griffins, 25-22, in the frame. However, Seton Hill responded by dominiating the next three by scores of 25-14, 25-18, and 25-14 for the 3-1 win.
Seton Hill had 58 kills in the match compared to 40 for Kutztown. The Griffins had six aces, 11 blocks, 56 assists, and 85 digs. The Golden Bears finished with three aces, five blocks, 39 assists, and 77 digs.
Seton Hill travels to Edinboro, Pa. for the start of their second PSAC road trip next weekend. The Griffins take on Edinboro University of Pennsylvania at 7:00 PM on Friday before battling Slippery Rock University in Slippery Rock, Pa. on Satruday at 1:00 PM.
