Seton Hill hosted #4 Indiana (PA) on Saturday afternoon at Offutt Field in Greensburg, PA. The Griffins hung around with the Crimson Hawks for the first quarter and a half but the IUP running game began to take control and scored the final 48 points of the game for a 57-14 win over the Griffins. SHU led 14-9 with 13:49 to play in the second quarter after two
Jarvis McClam touchdowns. SHU drops to 0-5 overall and 0-2 in PSAC West play while the Crimson Hawks improve to 5-0 and 2-0 in PSAC West play.
The Griffins won the toss and drove all the way to the IUP 20 yard line before an interception ended the drive. IUP returned the favor on their first play as
Marcus Nicholas intercepted a pass and returned it to the IUP 18 yard line. Six plays later, McClam scampered in from five yards out to give SHU a 7-0 lead with 9:16 left in the first quarter. The SHU defense then forced a turnover on downs on the next IUP drive and the Griffins took over at their own 26 yard line. The Griffins went three and out and the snap on the punt went out of the endzone for a safety. IUP took the free kick and marched 64 yards in 7 plays, the last on the first of six Samir Bullock's touchdown runs. IUP led 9-7 after the first quarter of action.
McClam capped the next Griffin drive with a three yard run to give the Griffins the lead back at 14-9 with 13:49 left in the second quarter. SHU marched 97 yards in 13 plays for the score. From that point on it was all Bullock. He scored on runs of 1, 5 and 15 yards in the second quarter to build a 30-14 halftime lead for the Crimson Hawks.
The Crimson Hawks added four third quarter touchdowns, two from Bullock to build their lead to 57-14. Both teams just ran the ball in the fourth quarter to eat up the clock.
IUP held a 35-26 lead in first downs. They put up 640 yards of total offense to just 364 for the Griffins.
Christian Strong was 27-54 for 265 yards.
Jarvis McClam ran for two touchdowns and 79 yards.
Michael Elardo had 7 receptions for 112 yards.
Fardan Allen recorded 8 solo tackles.
SHU will hit the road to Clarion next Saturday for a 2 PM kickoff.
