Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Late Goal Not Enough In Loss To California

GREENSBURG, Pa. - Seton Hill sophomore John Kenneally scored his first goal of the season, but it wasn't enough as the Griffins fell to California University of Pennsylvania, 3-1, in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference men's soccer action Sunday.

The Griffins now sit at 3-4-1 overall and 0-3 in PSAC play. California (Pa.) improves to 1-5 overall and 1-1 in the PSAC.

Cal's Eric Campbell scored the first goal of the contest just 6:45 into the first half. It would remain 1-0 until Cal's Dylan Repetto scored in the 65th followed by Nathan Angelo's goal in the 77th minute to make it 3-0 in favor of the Vulcans. The Griffins would finally get on the board when John Kenneally scored his first goal of the season off of a Trevor Momeyer assist to make the score 3-1. However, it would be too little, too late as the Vulcans held on for the win.

For the match, the Griffins outshot the Vulcans, 10-8 (6-4 on goal). Seton Hill also held a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks. The two teams combined for 20 fouls. SHU goalkeeper Austin Iddon had just one save on the day, while Lucas Exner grabbed five for the Vulcans.

Seton Hill travels to Slippery Rock on Wednesday, September 27th. That match is scheduled for a 1:30 PM kick-off.
