SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - The Seton Hill University women's field hockey team fell to Slippery Rock by a score of 4-0 in a non-conference affair on Wednesday evening at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium on the campus of Slippery Rock University.
WIth the loss, the Griffins slip to just 2-5 on the year. Slippery Rock improves to 5-3 overall for the 2017 campaign.
The Rock scored two in the first and added two more in the second as they limited the SHU offensive attack to just six shots on goal. All six of those shots came in the second half as Seton Hill attempted to gain traction late in the contest.
Seton Hill goalkeepers
Jane Eberhardt and
Alexandra Piekarz split the first and second halves with each giving up two goals apiece. Eberhardt finished with five saves in the first while Piekarz grabbed seven in the second half.
Kayla Chapman,
Michaela Swift-Mellor, and
Molly Childress each registered shots on goal for the Griffins.
Seton Hill travels to Kutztown, Pa. to take on Kutztown University in their first Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference matchup of the season on Saturday, September 23rd. That game is schedueld for a 1:00 PM start.
