Tom Urquhart scored twice and the Seton Hill University men's soccer team registered their first win of the 2017 season in a 3-2 victory over Roberts Wesleyan College Saturday in Rochester, N.Y.
Seton Hill is now 1-0-1 overall on the season. Roberts Wesleyan slips to 0-2-0.
Louis Mason got the party started for Seton Hill, scoring off of a penalty kick in the 14th minute of the game. Roberts Wesleyan would strike back with a goal from Sam Moody in the 32nd and the two teams would head into halftime tied at 1-1.
The teams battled back-and-forth in the second half until
Tom Urquhart broke the tie in the 75th minute off of a through pass from Mason to put SHU ahead, 2-1. Roberts Wesleyan would tie the game up yet again in the 80th when Marko Mitrevski found the top left corner from 18 yards out.
Tom Urquhart's crossing pass deflected off a Roberts Wesleyan defender in the 83rd minute, giving Urquhart his second goal of the game and what would end up being the game-winning goal.
For the match, Seton Hill outshot Roberts Wesleyan in total shots, 18-13, but the Redhawks held the advantage in shots on-goal, 7-6. RWC led in corner kicks, 7-6.
Austin Iddon (1-0-1) had fives saves in the win for Seton Hill. John Ciavaglia (0-2) grabbed three in the loss.
