Seton Hill scored three times in the first 19 minutes of the first half and added two more goals in the first seven minutes of the second half as they cruised to a 5-0 victory over the visiting Shepherd Rams. The Griffins remain unbeaten at 2-0-1 on the season.
The Griffins completely dominated the first half of the contest, holding a 16-3 advantage in shots in the half. SHU did not take long to get on the scoreboard as
Louis Mason's cross found
Tom Urquhart in the box and Urquhart beat the Ram keeper to give the Griffins a quick 1-0 lead.
Alex Dyson extended the Griffins lead to 2-0 in the 15th minute.
Lloyd Davies played a perfect thru ball to send Dyson free behind the back line and Dyson beat the keeper into the side netting for the 2-0 advantage. Just over four minutes later,
Brendon Mendelson's cross found
Henrik Berg in front of the net and Berg buried the shot into the back of the net for a 3-0 Griffins lead. SHU took that 3-0 lead into the halftime break.
Just 1:48 into the second half, the Griffins were fouled in the box and Mason took the penalty kick, finding the back of the net to extend the SHU lead to 4-0 early in the second half. Less than five minutes later, Berg scored his second goal of the contest. Mason took a throw in and hit
Joffe Bradley who found a wide open Berg who deposited the ball into the back of the net.
Austin Iddon and
Jacin Smith each made one save in each half for a combined shutout.
The Griffins are off until next Wednesday when they open PSAC play at home against Mercyhurst at 2 PM.
